Cellulose acetate is thermoplastic and has high transparency, deep gloss and good toughness properties. This makes Cellulose acetate as a suitable material for production of buttons, sunglasses, hand tools, films, sheets, spectacle frames, various coatings – for glass, paper/paperboard, electronics, food packaging, other plastics.

Cellulose acetate cannot be processed as thermoplastic in its primary form however due to excellent bonding properties with various plasticizers, heat and pressure, in compounded form it can be easily processed using regular plastics processing techniques.
